Phoenix, Ariz.-based Shieldspike LLC has released a new ballistic shield-mounted product, the Shieldspike. The window breaking tool is designed by a Phoenix PD SWAT officer and manufactured by Medford Knife & Tool (MKT). It attaches to existing ballistic shield designs. With this new tool law enforcement officers can break the windows of a car or building with the bottom of a shield fitted with the device. The attachment eliminates the need for an additional glass-breaking tool, thereby allowing the user to remain more fully protected by the ballistic shield.
