Heat Stress Monitors

Emergency respondents bear the risk of heat-induced illness, injury, or death when wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), due to the weight of the PPE and the elevated temperature inside. Quest Technologies Questemp II monitors the respondent's temperature via the ear and sounds an alarm when specified limits are exceeded. A second device monitors the respondent's heart rate and correlated core temperature via a chest-worn sensor.
