Georgia Man Killed in Standoff After Shooting at Police, Neighbors

December 22, 2014  |

A gunman is dead after terrorizing a neighborhood by shooting at residents and police officers in DeKalb County, Ga.

Police were called to the home on Landgraf Cove and Waldrop Cove Sunday night in reference to a suicidal person threatening to shoot officers. When police showed up, DeKalb's interim chief told WSB TV the suspect opened fire on officers. They took cover and called in the SWAT team.

As members of the SWAT team approached the house, police said the gunman opened fire again and several rounds hit the SWAT vehicle. At that point, police decided to evacuate the neighborhood and that's when things got intense.

Police said the suspect continued to shoot at them. The SWAT team fired back, rushed inside the house and found the gunman dead. Police have not said if they killed the man or if he committed suicide during the exchange of gunfire.

Thank you police again for keeping us all safe from terrorists. They are everywhere now. And we need to quadruple our police officers on the street

Another peerson in possession of a weapon he probably should not have had and he went crazy for the suicide by cop. We hate to oblige his ideations but he choose the path. Take care and stay safe.

Gotta love the media. THe man terrorized the neighborhood by shooting at residents, he opened fire on the first responding officers, but apparently things didn't get "intense" until the SWAT team came on scene and decided to evacuate the neighborhood...

In all seriousness though, great work by the Police. Good guys: 1 Dirt bag: 0.
