Suspect in Custody After Raleigh Theater Standoff

October 28, 2013  |

Raleigh, N.C., police took a man into custody Monday afternoon after a two-hour standoff outside a local movie theater.

Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted robbery in the area was believed to be inside the Carmike 15 Cinema, at 5501 Atlantic Springs Road.

WRAL Sky 5 video showed numerous officers surrounding the building and what appeared to be a SWAT Team entering the front of the theater.

The standoff appeared to come to an end around 2 p.m. as a man slid across the roof toward several officers with guns drawn.
