2 Texas Officers Shot, Teen In Custody

March 21, 2013  |

Houston SWAT officers arrested a 17-year-old Wednesday after an hours-long standoff that began when the teen shot two Jacinto City Police officers.

Edgar Omar Cuellar allegedly shot Lt. Dennis Walker and Sgt. Jennifer Simpson-Castenada, after the two officers arrived at his home to question him about a shooting. Shots from Cuellar also struck a Harris County Sheriff's Office patrol car, reports KPRC.

Lt. Walker's ballistic vest likely saved his life. Simpson-Castenada was shot in the arm. Both are expected to fully recover. Houston PD SWAT operators took Cuellar into custody after shooting him in the leg.
