Wash. Sniper Killed After Firing at SWAT

September 04, 2012  |

A man who fired on SWAT officers while in the woods outside Arlington, Wash., on Sunday was shot and killed after Snohomish County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene.

Snohomish County SWAT officers were called out to the scene after a man walking in the woods was shot. Several law enforcement vehicles were also shot. Around 4:30 p.m., police spotted a man with a rifle and a scope near Jim Creek Road and fired on him, reports the Seattle Times.

Deputies, as well as police from Everett, Lynnwood, and Edmonds launched a search for a possible accomplice but the search was called off around 11:30 p.m.

Great response by SWAT officers! Many people wonder why we need such beefed up SWAT teams and Police Dept's in this country and this is proof why we need them. Law enforcement needs to keep up with the criminals and make sure that Police are armed better than the criminals.
