A SWAT officer with the Buena Park (Calif.) Police Department ended a hostage situation Thursday by fatally shooting a suspect who took a hostage while attempting to rob a strip-mall bank, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The 45-year-old suspect was shot and critically wounded Thursday when he stepped outside with his hostage to retrieve an item that he had demanded police bring to him.
The suspect ordered people out of the Saehan Bank in the 4500 block of Beach Boulevard but kept the manager, a woman, as a hostage.
