A suspect inside a trailer park opened fire on two Phoenix Police officers responding to a trespassing call, critically wounding one and pinning down a second before additional officers could arrive.
The officers arrived at the trailer park, near 31st and Van Buren streets, just before 1 a.m. Saturday. Several people fled from the trailer, and someone inside fired, striking the officer several times.
The second officer was pinned down near the trailer for about an hour, until other officers could extricate him, reports the Arizona Republic.
