Intense Manhunt Continues for Mass. Cop's Shooter

September 07, 2011  |

An intense manhunt continued Wednesday morning for the suspects who opened fire on a Woburn (Mass.) Police officer during a jewelry store heist on Tuesday.

Officer Robert DeNapoli, 51, is hospitalized in good condition, and one person was taken into custody, but officials said two, possibly three, people wanted in connection with the incident remain on the run.

The man, who was taken into custody, has a tattoo of a quote from the movie "Scarface" — "El Mundo Es Mio" — the World Is Mine. DeNapoli, a 16-year veteran, was shot multiple times outside Musto Jewelers.

After the shooting, multiple SWAT teams and more than 350 police officers responded.

Michele McPhee is not the perpetrator... This article reads as if she is... you should clarify that she is not. I believe she is a local Boston columnist. As of right now, they do not know the name of the MAN in custody.
