Indiana SWAT Captain Wins First POLICE Magazine Gear Contest

February 25, 2011  |

Capt. Gary Moody of the Columbus (Ind.) Police Department won all of the gear featured in POLICE Magazine's Well Dressed SWAT Officer contest. "I received the call to tell me I had won the day before my 50th birthday," says Moody. "It was my best present!"

His haul included sponsored gear from BlackHawk, Damascus Protective Gear, Eye Safety Systems, FreeLinc, Original S.W.A.T., SureFire, Tactical Tailor, and Tru-Spec. The SWAT captain has already made good use of the sponsored gear in training and on a recent call-out.

"The ESS Crossbow glasses and Damascus gloves are now part of my SWAT gear," says Moody. "The other team members liked them so well that my department purchased the glasses and gloves for each of the team members."

Be sure to enter the next SWAT gear contest on PoliceMag.com next month.
