CHP Arrests Mentally Unstable Man, After Bridge Standoff

When California Highway Patrol officers arrived, Carlos-Valentino was brandishing what appeared to be a handgun, which he threw into the water below. He later said it was a pellet gun.

A mentally unstable man held up traffic on the Bay Bridge Thursday morning, after calling 911 and threatening to blow up the sport-utility vehicle he stoped on the bridge's upper deck, reports SFGate.com

Craig Carlos-Valentino, 51, of Antioch, had his 16-year-old daughter in the SUV and was taken into custody at 8 a.m. He had called police as well as a local radio station. He hung up on a crisis negotiator.
