The owners of a Louisville (Ky.) strip club that closed in 2009 have filed a lawsuit claiming police attention on the business culminating in a raid of the premises caused its demise, the Courier-Journal reports.
The suit was filed in Jefferson Circuit Court Monday on behalf of Bert Williams Sr. and his son, Bert Williams Jr., who owned the former Phat's Bar & Grill.
The owners claim officers stole "thousands" in cash during an April 2008 raid. The department has declined to comment on the lawsuit.
