Detroit Officer Who Shot 7-Year-Old Girl May Have Scuffled With Grandmother

The Michigan State Police will begin an investigation of the fatal shooting of a 7-year-old girl who was killed during the raid when the Detroit Police Department was searching a home for a murder suspect, the Free Press reports.
Wayne Country Prosecutor Kim Worthy has asked the state police to investigate the shooting, which occured on Sunday.
Aiyana Jones was shot in the head by a Detroit tactical officer, as officers entered the house to search for a murder suspect. Officers used a flash-bang device based on a report that the suspect was inside the house and heavily armed.
The officer may have been involved in a scuffle with the victim's grandmother inside the house.
