TREXPO West 2008 Offers California P.O.S.T. Certified Courses

January 24, 2008  |

California P.O.S.T. (California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training) has certified a significant part of the TREXPO West conference program that will be offered February 19-22 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif.

The POST Certified courses at TREXPO West are offered in conjunction with the California Association of Police Training Officers (CAPTO) and are PLAN N/A - P.O.S.T. C.P.T. hours only. POST Plan N/A does not pay any costs but does allow credit toward the Continuing Professional Training requirement.

Among the POST certified courses offered at TREXPO West will be the entire Tactical Medicine Conference, which reports a strong lineup of experts, trainers, and instructors.

The Tactical Medicine Conference, co-located with TREXPO West, is where emergency medical providers meet and share the latest tips and insights on trauma and emergency surgery, disaster medicine, mobile medical response systems, nuclear, biological, and chemical threats, and much more. Sessions will feature a variety of topics, including the new POST and EMSA tactical medicine model for the state of California, raising the bar to the 2008 standard for Tactical Medicine, combat physiology and performance enhancement, and tourniquets and hemostatic agents in the modern tactical environment.

The complete lineup of sessions is available on the Tactical Medicine Conference Website.

Tactical Medicine Conference attendees also have the opportunity to attend all TREXPO West and CAPTO seminars and to hear the two TREXPO West keynote sessions by John Giduck, author of "Terror at Beslan: A Russian Tragedy With Lessons for America's Schools," on Wednesday, February 20 and Thursday, February 21, with book signings before and after his keynote presentations. Giduck will present a compelling review and analysis of the Beslan school attack.

For a complete list of the P.O.S.T. Certified courses visit the TREXPO West 2008 Website at www.TREXPO.com.

In addition to POST certification, TREXPO West will now offer extended specialized training sessions and manufacturer certification.

Extended training sessions at TREXPO West 2008 in Long Beach, Calif., will be open to all registered attendees. Many of these sessions on Thursday, Feb. 21, award certification to those who demonstrate proficiency in the skills taught.

Classes will include the GLOCK Armorer's Course – Basic, QuikClot Hemostatic Agent Train the Trainer Course, Krav Maga Defensive Tactics for Law Enforcement, and Torfino Enterprises METAL-TEC Training Course.
