Loaded Gun Found in Tucson Airport Terminal

October 05, 2007  |

Tucson International Airport was evacuated yesterday after authorities discovered a loaded gun in a men’s room.

The handgun was found in a trash can in the west concourse in an area past the security checkpoint.

It was unknown who put the gun in the trash or why.

An airport spokeswoman said authorities had no explanation for how someone managed to get the gun past security. The Transportation Safety Administration is investigating the security breach.
