Home ownership is out of reach for many public safety officers and other low- to moderate- income workers because salaries aren’t keeping up with real estate prices, according to a recent study.
It’s no surprise that houses in places like San Francisco, Orange County, Calif., and New York and Boston are out of most people’s price range. But now owning property even in formerly reasonably priced cities like Minneapolis and Tulsa is becoming more difficult.
The report was conducted by the Center for Housing Policy is the nonprofit research affiliate of the National Housing Conference. The Center advocates affordable housing.
