“Concealed Carry for Cops” Signed Into Law

President George W. Bush has signed bill H.R. 218, the “Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act,” which will allow qualified current and retired police officers to legally carry a concealed weapon in any of the 50 states while on or off duty.

Originally drafted in 1992, H.R. 218 has been put to a vote many times, often as part of another bill. It passed in the House in June and passed in the Senate this month.
