Another “less-lethal” idea that breaks out of the realm of the “common-place.” Once in custody, many suspects still offer resistance and often less-lethal force must be used on them. The Body Cuff, from Hoffman Tactical Innovations, is a simple-to-deploy method to keep control of suspects when they have been maximally restrained or when moving, fingerprinting or booking. Police Magazine’s own Ed Nowicki, a nationally known use-of-force expert, called this device “the most versatile, well thought-out restraint system there is.” The Body Cuff is key-operated and allows instant/variable levels of restraint to meet the needs of a particular situation.
