A Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff's deputy is in critical condition, after he was shot by a suspect multiple times in Peoria early Tuesday. The incident began when Deputy Ruben Garcia, a 29-year veteran, conducted a traffic stop shortly after midnight of a suspect who had threatened a former girlfriend.
