Boston Area Special Agent in Charge Richard Deslauriers said the visual evidence shows Suspect Number 2 planting a bag possibly containing an IED at the site of the second bombing. Other images showed the two suspects—both young men—walking through the crowd and associating with each other.

The FBI has confirmed that a letter addressed to President Obama has "preliminarily tested positive" for ricin, a day after lawmakers said another letter sent to the Capitol Hill office of Sen. Roger Wicker tested positive for the same substance.
