Off-duty Baltimore Cop Fires At Man Who Entered His Car

The Baltimore PD is investigating the incident and not treating it as an officer-involved shooting because no one was hit. The officer and man scuffled, prior to the officer discharging his weapon.

Billie Ruffner, a 28-year veteran of the DOC, apparently failed to do monthly checks on Thomas Hardy, which allowed him to go free. Hardy is accused of murdering Officer David Moore during a traffic stop Jan. 23.

States Rush to Ban Fake Bath Salts

Several states, including Louisiana, North Dakota and Florida, have issued emergency bans on fake bath salts that contain a synthetic drug. The bath salts, which users can purchase online, cause paranoia, hallucinations and on some occasions, violent behavior.

Idaho Officer Shot In the Face

Jerome PD's Officer Dennis Clark attempted to stop Chris Taylor. Taylor, 29, failed to stop and led officers on a five-mile, high-speed pursuit that ended when Taylor lost control of his car and rolled the vehicle into a farm field.

Kentucky Trooper Stops Car, Finds Dead Woman

After stopping the vehicle, Sgt. Michael Simpson discovered an unresponsive woman. The driver told the trooper the woman had passed out, yet medical results showed she had been dead for six hours, likely due to a drug overdose.
