Police are seeking Naisul Martinez, 20, who is suspected to be involved in a Friday incident. After stopping a vehicle, four men bolted from the vehicle, and the officer gave chase. He was struck by two rounds in the shoulder, as he climbed a fence.

Sgt. Wesley Whitmore, a 15-year-veteran, pulled over a white vehicle with an expired tag on Sunday at about 10 a.m. in a 7-Eleven parking lot in Lakeland. He was struck by the Escalade driven by Leo John Saunders that had veered out of control.

N.J. Senate Caps Police Raises at 2 Percent

The New Jersey state Senate has approved a bill that would limit police and firefighter raises to 2 percent, if no contract agreement can be reached.

Several San Francisco Police officers revived a 1 1/2-year-old boy who had fallen into a fountain at the Hyatt Regency hotel's lobby fountain. The child was not breathing with officers found him in the water, and used CPR to revive him.
