U.S. Marshall Killed While Serving Arrest Warrant in Arizona

Deputy Marshal Chase White was the first deputy U.S. marshal to be killed in the line of duty in Tucson in 66 years, according to the Marshals Service.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase White was shot and killed while he and other officers were attempting to arrest a man charged with stalking a law enforcement officer, according to ODMP.

Deputy Marshal White was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his wounds.

After the shooting, a standoff ensued, with officers evacuating surrounding homes. The suspect surrendered without further incident about an hour later.

Deputy Marshal White was the first deputy U.S. marshal to be killed in the line of duty in Tucson in 66 years, according to the Marshals Service.

White had served with the United States Marshals Service for three years.
