Florida Officer Responding to Man-with-a-Gun Call Injured in Vehicle Collision

An officer with the Boynton Beach (FL) Police Department was reportedly injured in a traffic collision with another vehicle as she was responding to a man-with-a-gun call on Monday evening, according to WPTV News.

The officer—who has not yet been identified—reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries when an SUV turned in front of her and struck the driver's side of the patrol vehicle. Witnesses said that the officer attempted to avoid the collision but in so doing, crashed into a light pole.

The department said on Twitter that the occupants of the other car involved were not injured, and that the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
