Branden Turner says he wants to start a conversation about the value of human life, compared to that of a police dog, in response to the death of 29-year-old Theoddeus Gray of Detroit.

At least that's the explanation behind Turner releasing T-shirts that say "F*** that dog - Justice for Theo Gray," according to WXYZ Detroit.

Gray was fatally shot by St. Clair Shores Police last week after he allegedly opened fire on a 4-year-old K-9 named Axe, who was tracking Gray after police responded to the area on a call of a man with a gun. Both Gray and Axe died in the shooting.

Turner says he doesn't condone violence of any kind and that there needs to be a conversation about why Gray's life wasn't valued more than Axe's, reports mlive.com.

"The importance was placed on the life of a K9 officer or a dog, who does not share the same rights as a human being in this country," Turner said.

Turner launched the shirts under his company name Brand Visions. The Facebook post announcing the sale of the shirt has been met with comments of support and criticism, along with several racist statements and even threats, according to Turner.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office is continuing an investigation into the shooting involving Gray and Axe.

The dog was doing his job. The dirtbag was victimizing people. The dog was more valued!

I'm sure there would be chaos if someone printed t shirts that said F that turd, justice for the dog....

Joe Smith @ 11/12/2018 10:13 PM

Many may find Axes presence on the planet more valuable. At least he can follow orders.

Chris G @ 11/13/2018 3:28 AM

Justice for Theo Gray? Looks like he got the very justice he deserved. An armed and violent ex convict endangering not only the officers but everyone else in his community. K9 Axe will be remembered with love and respect - Theo Gray doesn't deserve the same.

So Brandon wants to start a conversation about this, eh? Probably going to be a brief one; by all accounts Gray was an inflamed boil on the ass of society, while Axe was a well trained and highly valued member of law enforcement. See? Not much else needs to be said...

DEPUTYJJG @ 11/13/2018 11:31 AM

The guy selling these T-shirts is about one notch above Gray in my opinion. Gray was a POS. Axe was not. TX LEO

Um...no. Retiring as a LT co-leading Internal Affairs I'm saying this: We do place a higher value on the "officer's life," which is why we send the dog in first. Unjust aggressors have no rights to do evil. So, if you shoot the K-9, the "dog," and then continue holding that gun in your hand for what comes next - what comes next is rounds sent towards your chest & face at somewhere between 1,100 to 3,000 feet per second. See the K-9 did it's duty in assisting & facilitating the officer remaining safe. Flee or resist a police officer while filling your hand with a gun or retaining a pistol in that hand, and you are going to get shot repeatedly. That could be a commercial. Gun in hand = gun in use. Police don't ever seek a fair fight, police come to win. Police have to win. Period.

RIP Axe. You are a true hero. Both Grey and Turner are a waste of skin as is the BLM movement.

Scott @ 11/13/2018 3:25 PM

RIP Axe.

Don @ 11/14/2018 1:17 PM

Any dog has a higher value than a criminal that starts something and then gets shot...because he wouldn't follow orders. Anyone who supports the criminal in any case like this to me is the same low life scum. Branden is that scum to me. I disagree with the cops on sending in a dog when then can gas the suspect out.
The cop and the dog Axe's lives are worth much more than this scum bag criminal and Braden also. If the bad guy shoots the dog, the cop is next. Good ridiance

Scott @ 11/14/2018 3:09 PM

Spot on Don. You pretty much summed it up!!!

Stacy Buchanan @ 11/14/2018 8:37 PM

Grey was begging for what he got...too bad we lost Axe in the process.
Turner? Hopefully you won't reproduce.

Using the deaths of a K9 and a criminal to make a profit...

Tells me all I need to know about the morals of Branden Turner.
