Wife of Slain Officer Removed from Appeal Hearing for Cop Killer Mumia Abu-Jamal

October 30, 2018  |

During a hearing to determine whether or not to extend the appeal hearing of Mumia Abu-Jamal in the fatal 1981 shooting of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner, Maureen Faulkner—the officer's widow—rose to her feet to sternly address the judge.

Common Pleas Court Judge Leon Tucker had just extended the hearing for 30 days when the widow stood and said, "With all due respect, your honor, I have another 30 days that I have to go through this pain and suffering?"

Faulkner had flown from California, hoping her long ordeal would come to an end, according to Philly.com.

In a hallway after the hearing, Faulkner apologized for her outburst.

"My emotions got the best of me," she said. "I mean, when is this case going to end?"

The now 64-year-old Abu-Jamal is serving a life sentence.

Can anyone explain why we are even wasting time considering letting this cop-murderer out of jail? His crime was obviously committed with extreme prejudice based on Faulkner’s position as a law enforcement officer, was it not? I don’t get it...

Since 1981??? I know the wheels of Justice rolls slowly, but since 1981??? C’mon man!!

Mrs. Faulkner you most certainly have my sympathies and please do not apologize here for your words to the court. I think that given the way some people act out today that your reaction was justified and certainly respectful. I would imagine that you were probably speaking to be heard but there was no profanity at all in your remarks to the judge. You have suffered long enough!!!!

Exactly, when is this nightmare going to end? This POS has proudly admitted he murdered Officer Faulkner and went so far as to say he would do it again if released. WTB Reebok and other companies for funding the legal team for this scum. Democrats/liberals are going to keep pushing and pushing until law enforcement is going to start fighting back in a way they never imagined! It's time for the mandatory death penalty for cop killers and make that punishment be carried out within 90 days, PERIOD! 1 appeal and you are toast.

Mrs. Faulkner. My sincere apologies and sympathies to you and your family.
Unfortunately law enforcement has been irreversibly damaged by Obama and his gang of anti law enforcement, anti American communist thugs. The North East has fallen to the anti cop thugs like Andrew, "Gargoyle head" cuomo and other "liberal" career politicians. (Capital letters intentionally left out of "Thug" cuomos name)
Perhaps all law enforcement officers in this country should call out sick for a week and see how these haters, "activists" etc get by without us !! God bless American and all Law Enforcement !!

From what I have read elsewhere, this cop-killer's lawyers claim they are looking for a memo of some type that allegedly shows prejudice on the part of one of the appeals court judges...and they've had how many years to make this phantom memo appear?? So this boot licking black robe disrespects this woman by extending the agony! Sounds like the judge is part of a conspiracy to keep this woman away from these proceedings when it really counts. Judge Tucker, you are a disgrace and an embarrassment, and should be in the unemployment line before another day dawns.

@Gary, when I was younger I agreed with the Blue Flu theory. However, we would only be hurting the victims and the true people who support LE. The idiots would invite us to give them the time to hurt others. What needs to be done is judges, lawyers, politicians need to be limited and victims of rape, murder, robbery, ID theft etc. Judges/politicians/ACLU need to feel bullets into their bodies or love ones to see how it feels to be a victim. Then they may have a change of mind. We have support from good folks but they go unheard. After 42 years of service I see CA and America getting worse. Thank God for Trump for his support. We need more like him. God Bless LE/Military and their families.
