Kentucky State Police say that several agencies were in pursuit of a pickup truck when the vehicle struck another car, killing two teenagers and injuring two others.
KSP said in a statement that the Meade County Sheriff's Office, Vine Grove Police Department, and Radcliff Police Department were in pursuit of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado operated by 36-year-old Shawn Welsh.
Wash reportedly struck 18-year-old Jacob Barber, who was driving a 2000 Honda Accord through an intersection.
Barber was pronounced deceased at the scene, along with a 17-year-old passenger. Two other juvenile passengers in Barber's vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Welsh was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was later released into the custody of the Meade County Sheriff's Office.
