The Maricopa County (AZ) Sheriff Office posted on its Facebook page a video of Sheriff Paul Penzone thanking area residents for donating food and supplies to help 53 neglected dogs who were rescued from poor living conditions.

The dogs, along with other animals, are being kept at the Maricopa County Sheriff Office's Animal Safe Haven (MASH). This is an animal unit that houses evidence animals from abuse and neglect cases and provides inmates with quality animal education, according to the unit's Facebook page.

The post reads:

"We want to express our gratitude to everyone who has graciously donated to our MCSO MASH UNIT. We are overwhelmed by the donations, love, and support we have received from the community in response to the dogs that were seized last week. Thank you! Your contributions have made a significant impact on our furry friends and the MCSO MASH UNIT. If you'd like to continue helping, visit our Amazon Wish List: https://amzn.to/2Ohi5eO."
