Minnesota Twins infielder Miguel Sano will not face criminal charges after he reportedly struck a police officer outside a nightclub in the Dominican Republic on Sunday, according to Fox News.

Sano had been speaking to a police officer in front of the club. After the exchange, he went to back up his white pickup truck without realizing that the officer had not moved his motorcycle from behind him, a spokesman for the Dominican national police told ESPN.

Sano then took the officer—who had suffered broken bones—to a nearby hospital.

According to ESPN, Sano and the officer know each other and had attended school together.

Sano has reportedly offered to pay all of the officer's medical expenses.
