New York Officer Shot, Wounded in Leg, While Executing a Warrant

The officer — a 32-year-old detective whose name has not yet been released — was struck by one of the bullets in the leg and rushed to a nearby hospital.

An NYPD detective suffered a gunshot wound in the leg while executing a search warrant in Brooklyn Friday, according to ABC-TV.

The officer — a 32-year-old detective whose name has not yet been released — was struck by one of the bullets in the leg and rushed to Kings County Hospital by fellow officers.

"The seven-year NYPD veteran was conscious and alert at the hospital," according to ABC.

Police later found the suspect — 33-year-old Kelvin Stichel — by following a trail of blood.
