A Kent, WA, police officer made a little boy's Fourth of July week when he gave him a special gift Tuesday.

The officer, identified on the agency's Facebook page as Officer Clift, encountered the boy at Birch Creek Apartments Monday and noticed the bike he was riding was in bad shape.

Officer Clift suggested that the boy needed a new bike. He asked the boy where he lived and the boy said he did not know his building number and that he lived with his grandma.

"Officer Clift asked him to go ask his grandma for his address, sharing that he would bring him a new bike when he came back to work the next day. Officer Clift had a like new bike at home suited perfectly for this boy," the department said on Facebook.

Good to his word, Officer Clift gave the boy the bike on Tuesday.
