Attempted Kidnapping, Subsequent Police Pursuit, Turns Deadly in California

June 12, 2018  |

A dramatic police pursuit began in San Francisco on Sunday and ended in a fiery fatal crash in the East Bay city of Emeryville, according to CBS News.

San Francisco Police Department spokesperson Carl Fabbri said that a man and a woman assaulted and attempted to kidnap another woman, trying to force her into the trunk of a car. The victim was able to force the trunk open and escape.

The offenders then led police on a dramatic pursuit across the Bay Bridge and onto surface streets near the border of Emeryville and Oakland, where the car crashed into a utility pole and burst into flames.

Bystanders pulled the driver to safety, but the passenger died in the fire.

No details regarding pending charges have been released.

Of course the perp would get pulled to safety, isn't that the way it always happens. Not the defense team can have a citizens all paid trial and try to get the guy off.
