California Trooper Dragged 1,000 Feet on Freeway

CHP says the motorcycle officer stopped a Jeep Friday evening on eastbound I-80 near the 5th Street off ramp before he was dragged.

A California Highway Patrol officer suffered minor injury after he was dragged up to 1,000 feet on a San Francisco freeway.

CHP says the motorcycle officer stopped a Jeep Friday evening on eastbound I-80 near the 5th Street off ramp before he was dragged.

CHP Officer Vu Williams said Nicole Kristine Woods provided false identification and then drove off, while the female driver and officer wrestled for control of the steering wheel, dragging the officer, who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the Jeep struck two other cars before it stopped and the woman in her 30s was arrested. The officer hung on until the vehicle stopped, KTVU reports.
