Kentucky Officer Shot and Killed

A Pikeville, KY, police officer was shot and killed Tuesday night. One suspect is in custody. But a second suspect is at large and the subject of a manhunt.

Officials in Eastern Kentucky say Officer Scotty Hamilton was shot and killed around 11:30 p.m. Hamilton, along with Kentucky State Police Troopers, were investigating a reported crime in the Hurricane Creek area of Pike County when Hamilton was shot.

Kentucky State Police reportedly have one person in custody in connection with the officer's shooting, but have not released that person's identity, WLKY reports  

Unmanned aerial systems are being used in the manhunt, WSAZ reports.

Very sad. Our prayers are with Officer Hamilton and his family. The law should be a federal one that says you kill a police officer you go to jail for life.

Yes it is very sad! But anyone that kills and officer in the line of duty should be automatic Death Sentence!
