Idaho Officer Shot, Suspect Killed in Tuesday Night Shootout

The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. Tuesday when officers attempted to detain a man with a felony arrest warrant. Other officers arrived on the scene and then gunfire was exchanged.

A Coeur d’Alene (ID) Police officer who was shot and wounded Tuesday night while attempting to make an arrest is expected to make a full recovery. The suspect was killed.

Officer Charles Hatley, who is six months into the job, is in good condition and recovering from surgery, said Police Chief Lee White.

One bullet hit Hatley in the abdomen near his gun belt.
