Several Off-Duty California Officers Wounded in Vegas Shooting

October 02, 2017  |

An off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy, and a Bakersfield officer were reportedly wounded in last night's mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. A civilian employee of the LASD was also wounded in the shooting.

According to the LAPD's Foothill Division, one of their officers was shot in the knee. She is in stable condition, police told ABC7.

An LASD deputy and an LASD employee were also injured in the incident. They were both hit by gunfire, sheriff's officials said. One was listed in critical condition, and the other was listed in stable condition. Their identities were not immediately released.

A Bakersfield police officer who was off-duty and in attendance at the concert with a group of other officers was also struck by a bullet and injured, the department said. The officer is being treated at a Las Vegas hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
