2 Off-Duty Vegas Officers Among More Than 50 Killed in Concert Shooting

October 02, 2017  |

A gunman on the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas Strip casino opened fire Sunday night on an outdoor country music concert below, killing more than 50 people — including two off-duty police officers — and wounding in excess of 200, authorities said.

Officers confronted the suspect at Mandalay Bay, across the street from the concert grounds, and he was killed, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said. Authorities identified him as Stephen Paddock, 64, a local resident.

Lombardo said police believe the shooting was a "lone wolf" attack but were looking for a roommate of Paddock for questioning. He subsequently said police thought they had located the woman, identified as 62-year-old Marilou Danley, as well as two vehicles being sought, the Las Vegas Sun reports.

Rest in peace brothers, thank you for your service.

Maybe there will be someone who saw the 2 officers trying to help someone before they were killed which would put them on duty so they can receive their death benefits. RIP brothers
