President Donald Trump has announced he intends to appoint Jon Adler to head the Bureau of Justice Assistance in the Department of Justice.

Adler is president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association Foundation and former president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA).

In his law enforcement career, Adler served as lead criminal investigator and chief tactical and firearms instructor for the United States Attorney’s Office in the southern district of New York.

In addition to his work with FLEOA and the FLEOA Foundation, Adler also served as the vice chairman of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, and as the first chair of the Department of Justice’s Congressional Badge of Bravery Federal Review Board. Since January 2012, he has written the "Federal Voice" column for Police Magazine and is a member of the Police Advisory Board.

Adler graduated with honors from Baruch College with a B.B.A., and from Seton Hall University with an M.A.
