June 06, 2017  |

An Algerian student reportedly attacked a French police officer with a hammer at Notre-Dame Cathedral Tuesday. The suspect was shot by another officer at the scene.

French authorities say the officer was not seriously injured in the assault, CNN reports.

The assailant reportedly was also carrying knives on his person. He was taken to a hospital. No report was made about his condition.

Reports say the suspect yelled “This is for Syria” during the assault.

These freaks will use whatever weapons that are available to them. As we all know, ANYTHING can be deemed a "dangerous instrument" so hammers, cars, vans, clubs, broken bottles, all will be used against Law enforcement personnel. Europe is seeing this now and it is just a matter of time that it will happen here should guns be unavailable. Stay vigilant. Carry off-duty and always carry an extra magazine. These are perilous times. That French policeman was very lucky.
