VIDEO: NY Trooper Critically Injured in Traffic Stop Crash

A New York State trooper is in critical condition after being injured in a crash while conducting a traffic stop on I-86 Wednesday, reports the Associated Press.

At approximately 4:38pm, State Police say Trooper Craig S. Foglia, of Troop E in Painted Post, had conducted a traffic stop and was sitting in his vehicle when he was struck from behind by a Ford F-150, reports WBNG.

Authorities say Trooper Foglia's patrol car then struck the vehicle which he had stopped. State Police say Trooper Foglia was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with serious injuries.

Trooper Foglia was in critical condition Thursday after undergoing surgery, reports the Associated Press.

NYS has a "move over" law. Was the driver of that F-150 truck 1192? If so, that driver should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If that driver WAS inebriated, he should do jail time and, should Trooper Foglia succumbs to his injuries, that driver should be indicted for manslaughter. He KNEW what he was doing if he was drunk. In the meantime, we pray for Trooper Foglia and his family.
