A West Virginia State Police trooper was shot and wounded Tuesday responding to a domestic disturbance in Lincoln County. The suspect was taken into custody after a standoff.

A West Virginia State Police trooper was shot and wounded Tuesday responding to a domestic disturbance in Lincoln County. The suspect was taken into custody after a standoff.

Jeremiah Yeager, 40, of Alum Creek, is charged with attempted murder, two counts of malicious wounding, domestic assault, domestic battery, strangulation, brandishing and obstruction.

According to the criminal complaint, Yeager shot Cpl. David Fry two times, WSAZ TV reports.

Cpl. Fry was able to drive to meet EMS in Kanawha County after being shot twice. His injuries are not considered to be life threatening.
