SC Deputy Attacked at Burglary Call, 2 Arrested

Richland County (SC) Sheriff Leon Lott has announced the arrest of two people in connection with an incident that involved an assault of a deputy.

Jose Perez has been charged with second-degree assault and battery, unlawful entry into a home, two counts of breaking and enter a car, two counts of petit larceny and one count of malicious injury to personal property, according to Lott.

A 15-year-old juvenile was also arrested and charged with three counts of breaking and entering a car and one count of unlawful entry into a home.

Lott said that around 1:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call about Perez and the juvenile unlawfully inside an unoccupied home.
