LAPD Officers Say They Won’t Enforce Immigration Laws

January 31, 2017  |

Detectives investigating crimes in Los Angeles say some witnesses are now uncooperative because of fear of Trump immigration policies.

They say they could face even more difficulties, depending on how far President Trump goes in enlisting local law enforcement to rid the country of people who are in the U.S. illegally.

After Trump’s unveiling last week of two executive orders that called for empowering local law enforcement officers to take on the duties of immigration agents, police officers and sheriff’s deputies across the Los Angeles area said in interviews with the Los Angeles Times that enforcing immigration laws is not in their job descriptions.

Funny I recall an oath of office that says I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the state of______and the constitution of united States of America and all laws.

The thousands of future citizens who have been obeying the immigration laws, waiting in the citizenship line as they go through the process, would probably like to weigh in on the LAPD's refusal to adhere to their oath of office. Unbelievable.

Interesting - my agency will hold me accountable for my failure to follow the law as it pertains to my duty, yet this same agency chooses to ignore laws it deems politically incorrect?

Deputy Moose @ 2/6/2017 1:55 PM

Pull your head out of your ass Beck, and enforce the law.

How is it you think you can simply pick the laws you want to enforce and ignore the ones you don't like. What about the freeking oath you took. You need to be FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am ashamed of the LAPD. I strove to be one of them and now I am glad I didn't make it. I have been a Veteran Affairs Police Officer for 15 years and in all my time I have never seen such a down fall of police due to scared democratic idiots one who was a womanizer and the other an Islamic supporter.
