Ohio Trooper Wounded in Accidental Shooting

An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper is recovering at a local hospital after an accidental shooting Wednesday night.

According to the Highway Patrol, the trooper was at the Heath Police Department when the incident happened.

A spokesperson said the trooper was in the process of holstering the weapon when the gun fired, striking the trooper in the leg.

10TV.com reports the wound is not life threatening.

Hope the Trooper was not hurt badly. Stuff happens, but reminds all of us that getting too familiar with a weapon and ignoring the basics is a recipe for disaster.
