Multiple Officers Shot, Killed at Dallas Protest

July 07, 2016  |

Multiple police officers have reportedly been shot and killed in downtown Dallas by two shooters at a protest of officer-involved shootings across the country, reports CNN.

Three Dallas police officers were killed and seven others were wounded, Dallas Police Chief David Brown said in a statement.

One Dallas Area Rapid Transit officer was fatally shot, the agency tweeted.

It's not clear if Brown included the DART officers in his tally.

Brown said two snipers shot the 10 from elevated positions during a protest. Two officers are in surgery and three are in critical condition. No suspects were in custody.

Three other DART officers were also shot. Their injuries are not considered life-threatening, DART said.

The suspects are still at large. This is a developing story.

Condolences to the officers killed last night I just have one thing to say and I hope this is reprinted and heard if your a police officer and your fellow officer is a bad cop or doing bad policing don't turn the other cheek turn him in just like you in courage the black and Latino youth to snitch I promise black youth would not get gun down and people will not target police.

This has nothing to do w/ race. It is irritating that every time there is an incident involving police shootings the first thing pounced on is race. There is no conspiracy. No cop starts his or her day hoping to shoot and kill a person w/ a different skin tone than theirs.
