Off-Duty Massachusetts Officer Saves Little Girl's Life

June 24, 2016  |

Cambridge (MA) Police Detective Angel Barbosa was off-duty and enjoying time with his family at a country club when a near-tragedy unfolded before him on Memorial Day weekend.

Barbosa sprung into action when he realized that a 6-year-old girl was drowning at the Ferncroft Country Club in Middleton, reports Boston.com.

He performed CPR on the child, who was showing “no signs of life,” according to Cambridge police.

“He continued to perform CPR until Middleton Fire and Police arrived on scene,” said police. “By the time they arrived, the child had a pulse and respirations.”
