VIDEO: Former Florida Officer Charged with Manslaughter for On-Duty Shooting

Former Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja was charged with manslaughter and attempted first-degree murder earlier this week for the October shooting of stranded motorist. Raja is now under house arrest after being released on $250,000 bail.

Raja was forced to surrender his passport.  Also, Raja is not allowed to use his law enforcement license, WPTV reports.

Jones' vehicle broke down on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach Gardens as he was driving home to Delray Beach after playing drums in a reggae band.

Just before 3:15 a.m., Officer Raja arrived on scene in plainclothes and driving an unmarked van.

Authorities say Raja was not wearing the tactical vest that identified him as a police officer, despite having been told to do so when working surveillance.

Prosecutors say Raja shot the armed musician without identifying himself as an officer.
