VIDEO: Virginia Trooper Suffers Life-Threatening Wounds in Bus Station Shooting, Gunman Dead

A Virginia State Police spokesperson says that the suspect is dead and a trooper has life-threatening injuries after a shooting at the Richmond Greyhound station Thursday afternoon. Some sources say the trooper has died, but State Police will not confirm.

Spokeswoman Corinne Geller says a suspect opened fire on an officer at the station around 2:45 p.m. Two nearby troopers then shot the suspect, who died after being transported to VCU Medical Center. Two other people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, NBC 12 reports.

Geller would not comment on why State Police troopers were at the bus station. There are reports they were on premises for a training exercise and were chatting with the public after the exercise when the man pulled out a gun and opened fire, hitting the wounded officer. Two other troopers reportedly returned fire.
