VIDEO: Man Opens Fire on DC Patrol Unit in Broad Daylight

A man has been arrested after shooting at a passing Washington, D.C., police cruiser in broad daylight.

Metro D.C. police said at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday a man started firing a gun at the passing vehicle in the 600 block of Mellon Street, SE, just off Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

"It was unprovoked," Cmdr. Vendette Parker, with the Metropolitan Police Department, told NBC Washington.

Officers drew their weapons and returned fire. One woman threw her car in reverse to try to avoid the gunfire and wound up crashing into a Lexus behind her, Bensen reports.

and..... Thats not much of a story, I assume the person who fired was not found, not shot, etc. Based on this story the cops "returned fire" in a random way at someone I guess".

Read the linked NBC Washington article. It gives more details. Yes the suspect was caught, no one was injured in the incident.
