Widow of Disgraced Illinois Lieutenant Indicted for Money Laundering

Melodie Gliniewicz was indicted on three counts of disbursing charitable funds without authority and for personal benefit (Class 2 felonies), one count of disbursing charitable funds without authority and for personal benefit (Class 3 felony), one count of money laundering (Class 2 felony), and one count of money laundering (Class 3 felony).

A grand jury has indicted the widow of former Fox Lake Police Lt. Charles Joseph "Joe" Gliniewicz on felony charges.

Melodie Gliniewicz was in custody Wednesday afternoon after she turned herself in to authorities. She later left jail after posting a $50,000 bond, WGN TV reports.

According to a statement by the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Melodie Gliniewicz was indicted on three counts of disbursing charitable funds without authority and for personal benefit (Class 2 felonies), one count of disbursing charitable funds without authority and for personal benefit (Class 3 felony), one count of money laundering (Class 2 felony), and one count of money laundering (Class 3 felony).
